According to U.S. Poison Control centers the leading causes of drug fatalities in the U.S. in 1996 were in
the following order:
One: Acetaminophen* (substitute for aspirin found in many name brand painkillers.) i.e.: Tylenol
Two: Cocaine
Three: Prescription narcotics
Four: Calcium channel blockers (used to treat hypertension)
Five: Amitriptyline (antidepressant)

As you can see pain killers are a leading cause of death. Yet very often the cause of one’s pain is never handled, located or corrected.
I’m for pain relief on a temporary bases using medication as ling as you look-find-correct the cause. And the causes can be as varied as: joint misalignment, tissues inflammation, biochemical imbalances, localized infections, nutritional deficiencies.
Doesn’t it make sense to find out if one of these causes can be corrected before you go on long term pain killers?
